DESCRIPTION:
EPW - Longines, Swiss, Express Monarch with very rare Canadian Government dial marking, 54mm (18S for North American market), gold-filled OF original Canadian made "Cashier" case, "Longines Express Monarch, Made Specially for the Canadian Government" marked white enamel DS dial with Canadian market 13 to 24 hour indications, SW-LS, fully capped lever escapement, 23J, jeweled barrel arbor, snail-cam regulator, fausses-côtes pattern nickel damascene, s#1818605. An intriguing and rare dial marking, we have seen only a very few examples of this "Made Specially for the Canadian Government" dial.
CONDITION:
Mvt: Running, fine-plus cosmetic mvt condition overall, bright plates with scattered fine to micro-fine scratches and some pinpoint nicks; dial flawless though with a bit of surface dirtiness; excellent hands, hour with oxide to portion of spade; case shows medium wear, soft ding toward lower-left perimeter of rear, thin strip of wear to brass following nearly the entirety of band/rear seam, thin strip of wear to brass following portion of band/bezel seam, wear to brass to much of pendant; tight brassy bow, crown shows substantial wear; glass crystal with few fine scratches.
